Full disclosure, I love salvage! It adds a bit of drama to a room, as well as patina and texture.
When we stage houses, we often utilize salvage.
The pocket doors behind the console table, above, were original to the house but were removed during the renovation when the space was opened up.
Once the renovation was complete we brought the pocket doors back in and used them as the focal point of the living room.
Rustic shutters make a dramatic back drop in this farmhouse dining room.
Salvage is often perfect in a tight space - if someone bumps into these when leaving the table, they would be difficult to damage.
