I am the first to admit I love frosted contact paper and I have created some pretty nifty things with it. However, it had never dawned on me that it could be a quick solution for those cheesy sliding mirrored closet doors! We recently had a charming condo with great storage space but some less than desirable closet doors. Since it was not in the budget to upgrade, we came up with this little trick. Measure the width and height of each door, then divide by 3 or 4 depending on how many frosted panels you want, subtract several inches from the sides (I subtracted a total of 6 on the sides, so that I had 3" of mirror showing on each side of the frosting) and then subtract 2"-3" from the top and bottom of each frosted panel. Now you know what size panels to cut - remember contact paper has those fabulous grids on the back to assist in cutting. Now that you have cut out all of your panels, mark the starting point on the mirror with a pencil. I started with the top panels. After you have the first panel up measure 2"-3" down, mark with pencil and adhere the next panel. Continue until you have created new, modern-looking closet doors!
