Decorating Style

 Choosing Your Decorating Style

An empty room offers many opportunities...
but there are so many choices that for some of us the task of decorating it seems daunting.
Some rooms begin with a favorite piece of furniture or a rug. But where to go from there may be a challenge.
I always have clients look through decorating magazines and blogs, just to begin to recognize what they are attracted to. Make sure to tear out rooms from magazines and print online pictures. Compiling pictures will help you see the patterns that emerge.
Maybe it appears, at first glance, that you are all over the map. But if you look closely you will most likely find consistencies; all of the rooms you like have touches of blue or the majority have long drapes or clean lined furniture. The consistencies should serve as your "jumping off point". It doesn't matter what you call the style, just that you like it.
Take a look at these groupings, they may offer clues to where you should begin...
