Entryway Ideas

Ideas for Entryways!
I had so much fun putting together The Pumpkin Rug room I thought I would make a series of imaginary rooms. Since I created the post on decorating foyers, I have been putting together my own fanciful entryways ideas. Although my budget is unlimited, in Fantasyland, I enjoy the challenge of keeping things cost friendly.

Here is what I came up with.

Traditional with a Twist
A neutral entryway idea with a punch of color
Fracto : Beige & Cream Wallpaper
I would start with this beige and cream wallpaper from Graham and Brown. Paint the trim Benjamin Moore's White Dove.

Champagne Mirror

I imagine my foyer needs a place for mail, gloves and scarves (drawers) ). Pieces like this one can be found at Nadeau. This store does not sell online but if you are lucky enough to have one of their brick and mortar shops near you, they are worth taking a look.. A piece like this runs less than $300.

Chunky Wool & Natural Jute Rug
Now, the room needs some texture. This chunky wool and natural jute rug from Pottery Barn adds warmth without being too formal.

Ghost Chair - Clear Acrylic Stackable Arm Chair
To keep things looking fresh, a ghost chair from Interior Express for $135.00.

Every entryway needs a chandelier. This honeycomb chandelier from World Market looks much more expensive than it is.

One of these simple ceramic lamps from Sear's finishes the look. Yes, I said Sears!

Fun and Fanciful
( influenced by Johnathan Adler's Foyer in my Great Foyers post)
An entryway idea that isn't so serious

Frames : Black & White Wallpaper
I have been in love with this wallpaper from Graham and Brown for quite some time. I can see it on the long wall of an entryway, with the other walls painted Benjamin Moore's White Dove and White Dove trim paint . I would display some of my kids art projects in the "frames".

OlinRug5x8F11
The Crate and Barrel Olin rug sets the mood.

The Ashna mirror from World market adds a little silver bling.

MIYO Home has this chunky pasons-like console for only $455.00. I envision it with two storage ottomans tucked underneath.

Reed Storage Ottoman

Two of these of from One Kings Lane (also available at Ballard Designs). A perfect place for the kids to tuck their shoes!

Robert Abbey Wavy Collection White Cased Glass Table Lamp
One of these glass lamps from Lamps Plus on the end of the console.

Gorgeous Turquoise Vintage Bowl
I need a bowl for keys, since the console table doesn't have a drawer. Etsy has so many handmade and vintage options. I chose this $20.00 vintage bowl. Measuring 15" long, it is big enough to make a statement.

KNAPPA Pendant lamp IKEA Gives a soft mood light.
IKEA's Knappa Pendant lamp is a fantastic choice for the chandelier, and not just because it is $24.99. I love the way it repeats the fluted shape of the glass lamp!

Bird On A Wire Coat Rack by JBA
Since this foyer is imaginary, I have decided we need a coat rack to the right of the console table. And face it who wouldn't love these little birds?

Aaahhh! I am realizing I really need to work on my own foyer!
